humble beginnings: a partnership with an idol

GONECLUB LDN. is a clothing brand operating in London, U.K with over 40K followers on instagram. I had been watching their social accounts for a while and when a post from them said they were looking for a graphic designer to help out with their designs I instantly jumped at the opportunity. Almost with desperation, I contacted them saying I would work for them completely free for 3 months in hopes of giving them the best quality work I could give, while also trying to secure a position in the brand.

Experience and connections like no other

After 3 months of incredibly passionate work with GONECLUB and their founder BOTCH, I had secured a position with them as their Lead Graphic Designer. The work included not just design work for pieces like hoodies, t-shirts and cargo pants but, I was also tasked with creating complex Tech-Pack files that communicated how to create our newly-made ideas to our manufacturers. Measurements, garment weights and colour palettes were all carefully organized into print-ready files so that our final product would come out just how we envisioned.

growing Pains: finding my own path

After working with GONECLUB for almost a year and a half, I decided to leave ultimately in hopes of finding more opportunities here in Canada. Although, I didn't leave before I had met some incredibly inspiring people like BOTCH, who was a mentor of sorts to me for a long time and learning professionalism and efficiency in a completely remote environment. This job taught me so much more than I could've ever imagined and I would not be the designer I am today without the incredible experience and mentorship I gained when working with GONECLUB.
